Introduction

• We are looking for an experienced Mobile developer with 4+ years’ experience in the design and development of native Android and Apple iOS applications.
• This is a permanent position in Centurion.
• Salary is based on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

In this position you will work closely with the core development team of the main web-based system.  You will design, develop and maintain functionality on mobile devices (Android and iOS). You will primarily focus on the development, but you will also be part of the complete development lifecycle, from layout design, to deployment and support.

You will be responsible for:

• The application development lifecycle including conceptualisation, design, development, release, and support the mobile applications.
• Develop fully functional mobile applications using best practices.
• Write unit and UI tests to identify problems and ensure robustness.
• Debug and optimize performance issues.
• Design intuitive interfaces to improve user experience.
• Work closely with the core product development team to plan and implement new features.
• Research and recommend new mobile products, applications, and protocols.
• Stay informed about the latest technology trends in mobile development.

• Form part of the group of seniors who assist with decisions regarding technology, architecture, high level project planning, resource allocation, implementations, etc.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Applicable university degree (preferably B.Sc. or B.Eng.)
• Good study marks will have preference
• South African Citizen
• Very good interpersonal and communication skills
• A thorough understanding and in-depth knowledge of the mobile technology and architecture.
• Proven Work Experience: Demonstrable portfolio of released applications on the App Store and/or the Android market.
• Experience in developing mobile applications in native iOS and/or Android app development.
• In-depth knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Swift (for iOS) or Java (for Android).
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
• Excellent analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
